BRADFORD – A Yorkshire textile firm that has operated at the heart of the wool textile sector since 1888, is working on two new developments that it says will assist wool to compete more effectively with modern synthetic fibres for use in a range of apparel.
Under the banner of its HD Wool project, H. Dawson is close to developing a new test method that more accurately reflects the performance attributes of wool; along with a new traceability system that works along similar lines to the Responsible Wool Standard, writes Charles Ross.
