COMO – While the production of silk has almost been consigned to history in Europe, Como in Italy continues to thrive as a hub serving the world’s luxury fashion retailers with fibres for products such as scarves, ties, blouses and dresses.
A new study has been conducted to assess the environmental credentials of mulberry silk, in order to plug the gap which currently exists regarding field data and life cycle assessments (LCAs) in this niche area of the industry.
