LONDON – People in the UK are throwing out almost half (49%) of their unwanted used textiles in the general rubbish bin, according to new research from waste recycling charity WRAP.

On average, each person in Britain throws 35 items of unwanted textiles straight into general waste every year, according to WRAP’s latest Textiles Market Situation Report 2024.
