DHAKA - The Accord on Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh says the remediation work currently taking place in the country's ready-made garment industry "must be accelerated and completed on an urgent basis," in the wake of four factory fires which have occurred in the past month. The fires took place at Tanaz Fashions, Alema Textiles, Target Fine Wear and H&M Silver rated supplier, Raiyan Knit Composite. The Accord has confirmed earlier reports that there were no reported fatalities or injuries at any of the factories, except for injuries to employees who attempted to fight the fires.
