DUSSELDORF – The C&A Foundation has this week pledged to provide a "significant amount" towards compensation for victims of the Tazreen Fashions factory fire which killed more 120 people in Bangladesh two years ago. The German clothing retailer worked with IndustriALL Global Union and the Clean Clothes Campaign to devise a system for compensating the victims of the tragedy. The final details of the pledge are now being agreed and will be made public once finalised. The multi-floor Tazreen Fashion factory, on the outskirts of Dhaka, supplied clothes to a number of Western retailers, including C&A, Disney and US Walmart.
