TIRUPUR, INDIA – Indian textiles hub Tirupur claims to have achieved zero liquid discharge (ZLD) in its dyeing and processing units, thereby completing a notable turnaround after more than 700 of its dyeing and bleaching units were shut down by a Madras High Court Order in 2011. The court had said the units were polluting the Noyyal River flowing through Tirupur and couldn't function until zero discharge was achieved.
