HONG KONG – The focus on sustainability and eco-fashion was the main talking point as Interstoff Asia Essential drew to a close on 5 October. The fair welcomed 178 exhibitors and 6,527 visitors worldwide. As well as in-depth seminars, the concept of sustainability was enhanced with a specially designed “Eco-Zone” area which showcased environmentally conscious products. A comprehensive, environmentally friendly labelling system also allowed visitors to understand the eco-credentials of each fabric and locate the exhibitors manufacturing the products. Wendy Wen, Director for Trade Fairs, Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, said: “As one of Asia’s longest standing textile fairs, Interstoff Asia Essential continues to serve as a key platform for networking and knowledge exchange for the industry. Visitors and exhibitors are especially impressed by the focus on sustainability, design originality and the quality of the fair."
