MINNEAPOLIS - A new report suggests that Walmart's heavily promoted sustainability initiatives are falling short of its original pledges, including slow progress on the retail giant's 2009 announcement that it would develop a global sustainability database within five years.
The report, ‘Walmart's Greenwash’, prepared by the US-based non profit, Institute for Local Self-Reliance, examines all aspects of the major retailer's environmental impact to, it says, “see how sustainable Walmart really is.”
